The Darkroom (2025)
The Darkroom (2025) was developed during an artistic residency at Club RAUM, funded by AFK. The project explored the club as an ecosystem through analogue black-and-white photography. Working with chemicals and organic materials, I disrupted the images during the development process to reflect the instability and permeability of the environment itself.
The choice of a queer club was intentional: a space of embodied collectivity where bodies, sound, light, intimacy, and atmosphere continuously influence one another. The project approached the darkroom as an extension of this ecology, allowing the photographic process itself to become unstable, reactive, and affected by its surroundings.
The installation was presented as a series of printed textiles in the club space, with a narrative text projected onto them through out the night/day. The installation was exhibited between October and November at Club RAUM, with its opening night during Amsterdam’s ADE festival.
