Esto de Juntar Flores (2024)
Digital Video with sound, 11:31
Esto de juntar flores is a short film (11 min) that explores the love for flowers and the desire to collect them, looking at the Dutch tulip industry expansion into Chile. Shot in the Flowering Desert in Chile, and Lisse and Hoorn in the Netherlands, the film questions how certain Dutch colonial values persist to this day through neoliberal extractivist practices, and the work reflects on the experience of the in-between of displacement guided by long distance conversations with my father.
